980ti bottleneck or not?

Hi all, ive recently bought a new 1440p monitor and have a 680 at the moment and looking to upgrade to a 980ti, however my cpu is rather old and dont want to waste money if im bottlenecking the card hard,
current specs are
860 seasonic psu
16 gig corsair vengeance 2133mhz ram
i7 970 @ 3.2ghz (can overclock)
gtx680
samsung 850 evo

If that i7 is hyperthreaded, you should be fine. Though I would still overclock to something like 3.8 or 4ghz.

Even though it's a bit older, that i7 is still a decent gaming CPU. You should be fine. If it does bottleneck, it won't be by much. Give it a good cooler and a moderate OC and enjoy.
