So recently (within the past two weeks) occasionally my PC will just display a solid color and output morphed sound. This most frequently happens when I am watching netflix.
I think it might be drivers for the GPUs but i reinstalled all of them and have the most up to date versions to eliminate any doubt.
Here are my specs:
Asus Formula VIII Mobo
2 Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980Ti 6GB G1 Gaming OC Edition cards (running in SLI, yes i tried each card individually with nothing but the same effect)
Intel core i7 6700k O.C. to 4.4ghz
32 gbv gskill ripjaws V
Corsair RM1000i
Samsung 840 evo SSD 250 gig
5TB HDD space
corsair H100i (the newest model with rgb)
Any help would be highly appreciated!
Thanks

I tried IE as well as firefox, doesn't seem to have any issues with those two. I will try reinstalling drivers/dx12 again as i did before.
My girl also just told me that the cat stepped on the surge protector switch the other night turning the PC off while i was at work. That may have something to do with it. I am not sure though.

Hmmm you could always re-install chrome and see if it still happens or just use the other browsers for Netflix.
Also check check if you have enabled FXAA in your Anitaliasing settings, turn it off and see.
Don't believe you have done any damage to your pc.
You could always try doing a clean install of your Nvidia drivers, download the latest one, choose custom install and check clean install.

Me either isn't the first PC the cat has turned off that way. and this is build 48 so i think we are good there.

OK, thought i had fixed it by reinstalling DX12 and graphic card drivers.
Nope! Didn't work.
this is the only thing i found in the event viewer that could be part of the cause?
"The description for Event ID 56 from source Application Popup cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

ACPI
5

the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table"
Any ideas?
