Pascal highest end stuff (1080ti) replacement for the 980ti isnt even coming out until q4 this year at best so good luck waiting. Again a kingping only runs about $100 usd if that more than a standard evga 980ti so $100 for a premium highest of the highend card isnt bad at all. I'd pay it but generally i get the classified model which also has multiple bios including ln2 but guess what? I can get over 1300mhz on my 780ti on air easily all day. I dont have to be on ln2 for the high of a clock. Extreme overclocking requires ln2 but for daily gaming and benchmarking ln2 isnt needed. Also the kingpin card offer cosmetics no other card does so again to some thats probably worth it. Just because you think because it has a ln2 bios setting it has to be ran on ln2 otherwise its a waste of money doesnt mean it is. The more you comment in fact and say useless information the less your opinion matters i can guarantee.

youre forgetting im in the uk and the kingpin generally costs £200 more than some normal 980ti cards, uk prices suck for things, for example a 4790k at microcenter costs about as much as an i5 4690k in the uk.

i looked at the kingpin and its prebinned at 72%+ asic, my 970 has 74% and isnt even prebinned, basically he got the lowest prebinned kingpin you can get, kingpins are worth the money yeah, but only if you plan on using them water cooled or ln2.

on air id say no, watch jayztwocents video on the 980ti kingpin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHAIe-fOTyM

listen at 21:41, he even says himself the kinpgin is at most 2% faster than the g1 for the extra price, its just not worth it.

Just an FYI, I purchased the lowest prebinned chip and got an 80% ASIC on one of mine. Thats just a guarantee that you dont get one any lower then what you expect.

I paid nearly what ive seen some people pay for Waterforce or Lightning cards so it wasnt much to justify.

Hi all! Sorry to have been out of the loop!

I got the replacement card and out of curiosity ran the ASIC test and verified the RMA card is rated at 76.3... Not a bad jump from 72 which I originally got. Also the build is later via the SN.

Anyway, that does not matter as much as my results... I am still currently benching but I am happy to say I am already at 1514 MHz at stock voltages (Vs 1403 on last card). Still going strong. I am only bumping about 10 to 15 at a time to see where my thermal limits are.

Will let you know where the speed sets when I am done.

Ha. Yeah I am sure there will always be the debate into the Kingpin cards.

In the end, everyone will have their own reasons and opinions in purchasing the card. Myself, was to overclock and get the best out of the Maxwell chip. Yes I am intrigued with Pascal but I could not wait on it's release and the Kingpin with its mulit BIOS and better hardware is what sold me.

Once settled I do plan to water cool this chip-set and see what gains I can get because in the end that is what overclocking is about. Pretty much an addiction I will say.

At the moment I think my speed limit on air will be around 1520 which is just fine and expected. Going to tinker more with my voltages and see if I can eek out 1600 on 3DMark.

Hey Matt, I own a single kingpin as well and my score for fire strike was only about 9500. Could you tell me which fire strike version you used to benchmark? Thanks ( also, I am having a hard time overclocking beyond +50mhz offset without crashing )
