Here is the trouble. I have a 980ti and a 4k TV. When playing any game there is a lot of horrible screen tearing every time I move the mouse. The 980ti is connected to the 4k tv (samsung un65ks8000 with a 120hz refresh rate) via HDMI. The HDMI is high speed 13.2Gbps. The settings for the game are normal and its plays well on my 4k monitor. Is there a way to get rid of screen tearing?

Solution
Lets use the power of math! :)

4K resolution = 4096 by 2160
4096x2160 = 8847360 pixels
24-bits of color per pixel = 212336640 bits per frame
120 frames per second = 25,480,396,800 bits per second, or 25Gbps, almost 2 times the bandwidth of your cable.

You must use display port to achieve such a bandwidth, as HDMI is not yet capable of it. If DP is not an option, you must fall back to either lower resolution or refresh rate.
