Okay so im thinking about purchasing a dedicated PhysX card for my GeForce 260 core 216 superclocked card.

My current setup is:

AsRock x58 Extreme Motherboard
Core i7 940 (2.93Ghz)-watercooled
Nvidia GeForce 260 (core 216) superclocked edition from EVGA
6GB G-Skill memory (1600mhz)
WD Black 500GB Sata HD
Antec 900 case

Would a dedicated PhysX card be worth the price/performance increase ratio? What else would be a good solution to increase framerates and/or image quality?

Also, what would be a good PhysX dedicated card for ~$50?

Thanks in advance,

IMO, PhysX is a waste of time and money. It doesn't really give you much other than oooahh, consumes a lot of power doing it, generates another GPUs worth of heat, and still isn't supported on many games.

I'd just save your money for the next part upgrade.

If you have the money, go for it, however you will be limited to a small list of games to choose from, and the effects aren't that great either.

However if you want the best of the best (and I would if I was running an Nvidia setup) then go for it, maybe a placebo affect will take over where there is a lack of Nvidia physx.

except in Batman AA, for that game you almost need the GTX260 as a dedicated PhysX card, though i would say PhysX is not worth it
