a 3.0 x16 graphics card into a 1.0 x16 mobo slot .will it work

hi,
i have this (http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/pegatron-corporation-1-01-benicia-motherboard-specs/) and i am worrying if a asus gtx 750 2gb oc edition which is a 3.0x16 gpu will work on this motherboard ?

It will work with the 1.0 slot - not sure if there will be any significant performance drop though, you probably won't notice it unless you're pushing your card.

I'm going to be the lone dissenter here. Years ago I had a Gigabyte P35-DS3L mobo with similar specs to yours, except I think it supported PCIe v1.1 instead of 1.0. No matter what I tried I couldn't get it to work with an PCIe 2.0 XFX Radeon 5750. I returned the thing three times, and finally gave up and bought a GTX 560. Years later I popped the 5750 into a PCIe 3.0 mobo, and it worked flawlessly. Go figure...

on paper they said 3.0 is backward compatible with 1.0, BUT, most, if not all need bios upgrade to use it. and for older motherboard, they don't offer update anymore.
