Hi so this is my current build

I probably won't get it until a year or less. Should I stick with the 970 or upgrade to the 980/ti by then?

If you are getting a card in a year from now then there is no need to make this post as those cards will be superseded by something much better.

Most people are starting to get the 980 Ti so they won't have to upgrade for a while. But get what you'd like, I would sugest the 980 Ti or stick with the 970 then upgrade to a better GPU in time, the 970 will last a few years.

980 or 980 Ti is overkill for that monitor. You'll be able to max everything at 1080p with a 970. Otherwise, the Fury X is a better choice for 4k.
