A black screen but i have sound

i am trying to play The Evil Within. and i have sound but all i get is a black screen. i have been trying all day to get it to work but i have not gotten anywhere with it. someone please help me...

List your system specs.

Have you tried running it in windowed mode?

Right click the shortcut, choose properties, and where it says Target: "C:\programsfiles\ect\evilwithin.exe"
Add -window to it so it looks like:
"C:\programsfiles\ect\evilwithin.exe" -window
(or -windowed or -w, it varies depending on the program)

it says this..."C:\Program Files (x86)\R.G. Mechanics\The Evil Within\EvilWithin.exe"
so how do i fix this?

try running it in windowed mode like explained above.

OK i tried that. it did not work. it says it is not valid and to make sure the path and file name are correct. Sorry i am not good at computers.

try reinstalling it and at the end when it asks to install things like DirectX and .Net install all of them, EVEN IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THEM INSTALLED.

Also list your system specs.
