I have a dell precision m6400, i want to use a 7200rpm 3.5" sata hdd as external hdd. I do have a connector (picture below) . My laptop ave only 2.0. So i was wondering if, my laptop esata could power a computer 3.5" hdd without adapter? i have tested my other hdd of 2.5" on esata and normal with the 3.0 connector and it work perfect with no adapter just plug and done. i don't even have to use the dc5v usb plug, it works perfectly with only one plug of usb3.0/2.0.
