Will the Freezer Xtreme Rev.2
work well for the 1700X?
i don't intend to do a high overclock maybe a 4.0-4.2.(if i will need to)

Solution

If it were me, I'd just go with the 1700 (non-X), the stock cooler and a 3.8-3.9GHz overclock - whatever the CPU can handle at stock core voltage.

An extra 3-5% performance isn't worth $300 more. ($150 more for the CPU + $100 for adequate aftermarket cooling to stand a reasonable chance of achieving a 200MHz better OC + $50 extra for a higher-end motherboard to improve your chances of hitting the highest CPU and memory speeds possible.)

Also, depending on your luck with the silicon lottery, those 100-200MHz extra may come at a steep power cost.
4.2GHz would be an outstanding overclock for Ryzen. Using conventional cooling, 4GHz on all cores is already an optimistic overclock with 3.9GHz being more realistically achievable.

In other words, Ryzen has next to no overclocking headroom without extreme (as in below-ambient) cooling.

buying the 1800X instead is worth it? or should i stick with the 1700X with this cooler?

I see do you think buying the 1800X instead is worth it? or should i stick with the 1700X with this cooler?

Nope they are both pretty much the same. Just the 1800x has a bit less overclocking head room as its nearer the max. Get the 1700x and with a lot of luck you can get 4.075Ghz.
