I want to buy a new graphics card.. i heard that gtx550 ti is pretty good.. and supports some games that i would like to play..
But there is one problem.. i have a --Intel pentium dual CPU E2200 2.20GHz-- and .. i know it's probably not gonna work with a gtx 550ti.. so what would you recommend ? Budget : 120-150euro (could maybe raise it a little bit and if it's not enough.. just suggest one .. that would work good with it )
Thanks.

Would it do better than a 2120 or a 2400 ?

any sandy bridge cpu will work, even the celeron sandy bridge. the 550ti is a pretty weak card on its own.

on the intel side the # size in the thousands represents the stregnth in the cpu(besides s and t series ones). so the 2120 is better than 2100 etc.

For sandy bridge i3+
i3's go from 2100 to 2130 or something, i cant recall. i5's from 2300 to 2550k i7 from 2600 to 2700k

I searched on my store sites ( a local one ) and i found this "Procesor Intel Celeron G460 1.8GHz"
It is the only one .. and it's pretty cheap.. 35euros .. i find it too cheaper.. and i don't think it will work.. at that price.. other ones like i3 2100 are like 118 125.. but i don't know.. i'm not an expert..What's your opinion ? i3 2100 or intel celeron g460

it depends on what games you are running. I would normall say get an i3(3.0+ ghz dual core with hyperthreading), but if its just basic gaming, the celeron under sandy bridge lineup can hold the 550ti as tomsalready proved that the celeron could hold the gtx 560 in their 500$ build this month. though I wouldnt go out and go for a celeron if i had a choice, but if you think the i3 is too much for your budget, than using a pentium g(sandy bridge) series as its essentially a slightly downclocked i3 without hyperthreading.

Thanks alot.. but one more question if possible..a 450w power supply will work ? With an I3-2100 3.10GHz and a GTX 550 ti ?

the cpu itself doesn't take a lot of amperage/wattage on the psu, but really what decides what can run is the quality of the psu. if its 450w, the answer will more likely be yes but who knows.

It's more than enough, just make sure you don't get a cheap no name PSU. It's an important part of your PC and should be of certain quality. Antec, Corsair, Seasonic are good PSU brands for example.
