So I have the motherboard Asus rog strix z390 f gaming...

and i have the power supply cooler master b500 v2
Im planning on buying new components for my setup but I think i need a higher capacity psu.
Im looking at Corsair rm750 x v2 but I am reading a lot of psu- cable compatibilities on the internet and i dont know what to look at when upgrading the psu.

so that is basically my question. What do i need to look out for when buying a new psu? and does the psu im looking at right now corsair the right one and is it a good upgrade from the coolermaster?

As for brand, corsair is a pretty good psi brand.
I ned to know the specs of your planned build before judging if the wattage is enough or if cables are sufficient
My current specs are the following:

Mobo: rog strix z390 f gaming
ram: 4x4 (16gb) crucial ddr4 260 mhz
processor: intel i5-9400
gpu: msi geforce gtx 1050ti itx oc 4gb
storage: 1 tb hdd, 250 gb external ssd

My planned build:

Mobo: same
ram: 16x2 (32gb) Corsair vengeance pro 3000 mhz
Processor: intel i7- 9700k
gpu: something from the rtx 2080 family that is compatible with my mobo (not researched yet)
storage: 8 tb hdd 7200 rpm, 1 tb external ssd
Liquid cpu cooling: rog ryuo 240

Well the power supply wattage is probably sufficient unless you do a massive OC and there are enough cables for your needs.
80+ gold rating is good too
well since you talked about 80+ gold rating, i actually took the time to research what that means and now im switching from rm750x to ax850 80+ titanium lol
