Hi there, i realy need some help on my dilemma, which i will trie to explai the best as i can.. i have this computer an asus M2N32-sli, with an AMD Athlon 64 6000+, i know its a very old computer, but for far works for me, i still abble to play the games that i like in low or medium settings, however... 2 weeks ago, for low performance, and them with a cut of the eletric power (for line maintenance) with no previous warning, well... my OS is pretty mess, and worst now its slow, soo slow that now some games freezes even on lower settings.
soo here is my problem, but the solucion is simple just reinstall a new clean OS or in this case... install again windows 7 and all the stuff that i have, or i could to start and slowly build a new PC, and by slowly... i been update in 3 steps: 1st step - CPU, Moetherboard, and memory), everything looks good especially when i been dreaming with a new pc for some years now, and to me even better on next friday i will be in vacation from job, but i just remenber of one problem, my PSU.
The PSU i have right now is an coolermaster real power 550w, that i bought almost 9 years ago, and here is my big "dilemma"... for what i read in foruns or discussions, ones says that and bad PSC or and non good quality PSU can burn your PC, if you use for years, others... comments that a good PSU is so good that even haves somekind of killer switch, basically to protect the components of any discharge, some said "the best is to change in 5 years of use, others said " just relax, and enjoy your PSU has long he lives"... my dilemma is not if i should keep this PSU or not, that is out of question, but can i trust this PSU for just more 2 months? and that is my dilemma i only have this 2 options;
Option A - i buy this 3 parts( CPU, Moetherboard, and memory) and them... in a maximum of 2 months, i change my PSU for a new one... or option B- i just reintall the OS in my old PC and keep saving and dreaming for a new PC, and try to update in 8 or 10 months from now. what do you recommend?
