I just started to build my first system last night.
MSI K7T Pro2A
AMD 900 Tbird
ATI All in Wonder 128 Pro
Western Digital 20.5G 7200
PC133 128 Cas 3
Pioneer CD/DVD

The only thing reused was my floppy (Could this be the Problem????)

I am able to boot up (sometimes when I power on the Computer turns on but does not boot, after I hit reset it boots fine)

I'm able to get into the BIOS, didn't really change anything.

My hardrive is detected in the BIOS 20.5 but on boot it only says 16?? Is that normal?? My CD is also detected along with the floppy. CPU was running at 33 C and system @ 20 C.

My next step is to set up the hardrive. When I load the bootable disket I get "loading data lifeguard tools" and then nothing. The sytsem seems to lock up. How long should it take to load??

Do I have to change settings in the BIOS, could my A: drive be bad...it worked on my old computer, could I have put the cables on wrong?? I'm lost any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Something else I noticed:
In the BIOS
IDE Primary Master 20.5 GB
IDE Prim Slave None
IDE Secondary Master None
IDE SECON Slave None

Should my secondary master be showing my CD/DVD-ROM?

Is it possible that the Pin connectors on the back of the CD & HD have to be changed, dual master??

ok heres what i can help you with. I have had floppy toubles in the past, the cause: the cable was upside down, something really easy to do with floppy drives. This may or may not be your problem.
And yes, if your cd drive is on your secondary connector on your motherboard, you need to change the setting that says IDE Secondary Master to auto detect, do this using your +/- keys and then save and exit. Hope it helps

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.
