Actually, thank you for the information for there might be those reading the post that might not understand the differences and might not understand the discussion that has arrised because of it...and you should never have to apollogize for the dispensation of knowledge, it is the only way we learn.

Thanks

hello people i´m a amd since k6 processor i had 300 mhz that kick pentium ass for about one year and a half, that time the pentium family worked around 1 ghz but with a riva tnt 2 and some memory it worked well, then i moved to athlon xp 2000+ and it kept going til 8 months ago , now i have socket 939 with a 3800x2 and to me will last til next year or so , i think that amd is doing a good job , the platforms are good, we(amd fanboys) don´t need to change our hard earned money motherboard´s all the time like intel fanboys do , every 6 months intel spits a new chipset because the previous one as bugs , don´t suport 64 bit´s or sli or the chief enginner get´s sick. we amd guys like to wait and see before the buy , about am2 for a eng. sample it works quite well don´t fall behind the almost 3 year old and very mature socket 939 . There´s space for improvements and we will see by the end off the year a very good and cheap platform that will kick intel´s ass again. 😀

Are you people blind?

5.8GB/s in Sandra on PC3200 (which had to be the buffered test, right?) vs 5.8GB/s with DDR2-667.

DDR2 stinks but not this bad. It's obvious the memory controller bug has set the memory to operate at DDR2-400. I guess that's why AMD doesn't want people benching their hardware yet.

Me personally, I'm happy to wait for a DDR2 65nm AMD proc before I upgrade.

Yep, and I'll even wait a little longer to let folks do some of the fun learning processes for me - and for prices to drop a notch or two.[code:1:4f22db0064][/code:1:4f22db0064]
