I downloaded Kaspersky yesterday and today a lot of my desktop icons are black, I'm not sure if it's related but that's the only thing that changed with my pc. This happens with both standar apps and programs I've downloaded.

In this picture the black icons are for Steam, Edge and Kaspersky:

I have a job that makes me go to a lot of shady websites so there's a very real possibility that my pc got attacked by a virus, I got the Kaspersky reports in the second and third image yesterday too. Everything seems to be working normally except for that. Could this be a sign of a virus? And can I fix it?

And what kind of job would that be?

And can I fix it?
See if rebuilding your icon cache helps bring the icons back to the way they were.

I'm a domain assessor my job is to categorize helpful and scam websites so I end up visiting a lot of harmful websites

You openly admit you go to shady websites as part of your job so i think their are some simple checks to do on your system.
1. do a full av scan
2. run windows defender
3. use malwarebytes , if it finds anything quarantine/delete and repeat till it finds nothing because although malwarebytes is good it does not find and delete all segments on first pass.
4. look in add/remove for items you dont recognise.

I stopped using kaspersky when russian invaded ukraine but i am surprised it lets you go onto sites you probably should not go on .... it used to stop me going on some forums and would even destroy some things i tried to download even though i was not doing anything wrong

i dont know if this article will help you
