[SOLVED] A new €800 build for 1080p gaming and home use ?

Hello,

I'm looking for suggestions on building a new PC, an improvement over my current Ryzen 1400 build from 2017. I'd use the PC for 1080p gaming, some light photo editing, analog audio ripping, media storage and other usual desktop tasks. My budget is roughly around 800 EUR, but flexible. The budget doesn't include a monitor or peripherals (I already have those), or an OS. I'm located in continental Europe, so local prices apply.

My expectations:

• Preferably a Ryzen CPU, though this is not a definite condition
• 16GB of RAM @3200MHz at least
• 2TB of storage, preferably in the form of a NVMe SSD (definitely no HDD)
• As for graphics, I currently own a Radeon RX 570 4GB, and I'm under no illusions that I can get anything better in this price range. Unless I'm mistaken... Would a new board work well with it, or...?
• a PSU that can support all this - I'd prefer a modular one, for cable management and aesthetic reasons
• I'd pick the case myself, again due to aesthetic reasons, though I'm open to suggestions

Some thoughts of my own:

• Intel i5-12400f indeed seems like great value for money, but I notice that its B660 motherboards are quite pricey. While its direct competitor, Ryzen 5600X, is more expensive, its boards are cheaper, so the total price difference turns out not to be that significant. My nearest vendor offers a number of B550 motherboards in the 100 EUR price range. What do you think about taking that direction? 🤔
• I assume my RX 570 GPU would be a bottleneck in this system. Still, would it be compatible and work with other components? Also, does it matter whether the CPU is Intel or AMD? 🤔
• Samsung 970 Evo Plus seems like a more attractive NVMe SSD option for me, due to its higher speed and Samsung's excellent track record in durability. I could get one for about 225 EUR, what do you think?
• Other than that, I like your other suggestions, especially the PSU, seems like a superb device. 😉

Doesnt matter if its Intel or AMD, iirc there are some features that work with both AMD gpus and cpus however

I have a 1tb one, doing pretty good but ive never used the crucial drive.

You could find other cheaper PSU options, but i suppose the quality goes down pretty fast.

The 11400 is great too. (~10$ cheaper if that matters)

Not that much. In fact, I don't think I would even notice the difference in performance between 12400 and 5600X, so I'm more concerned with flexibility and future proofing. I know AMD's AM4 platform will be on its way out soon, but its CPUs are rather flexible in the terms of overclocking. Not sure about Intel's though, but by all means correct me if I'm wrong.

The 5600x is a solid cpu. With that said both Alza and Computer Universe ship to Croatia for cheap.
