Hello, recently I decided its time to upgrade my current PC due to the new high end incoming games which will not work on my PC. A few years ago I bought the Dell XPS 8700 which cost around $800. The problem here is that my graphics card is really outdated. I wanted to ask if its better to buy a new more gaming case or upgrade my graphics card, and which graphics card would work and fit the best. My budget for a graphic card is around $200-$500. Excuse me for my lack of computer knowledge and my bad English.

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745

Well the rx 480 still needs to launch so thats why I would wait just a couple more weeks. Also the standard psu in your dell can't support anything above whats already in there so that is why I would recommend getting a 600w evga/seasonic/antec psu.

Get a graphicscard but make sure your psu can handle it. You are lucky to have a dell that allows you to upgrade the psu. I would get something in the line of a gtx 970 or r9 -390. However wait a bit until the rx 480 launches as it is supposed to be really good for it's money and might come close to a gtx 1070.

By saying case I meant getting a different Desktop (PC), not just the plastic case

Why do I need a new PSU? Do you have a link of a decent PSU that would fit and stuff? Also is the rx 480 that Jaslion pointed out a good pick?
