A Samsung SSD 850 PRO 1TB was cloned successfully with
Macrium Reflect. I'm using it now. But, there's a problem.
The original SSD shows up in the BIOS but will not boot up
when placed in the first posting position. Is there a way to
access and retrieve data from this original SSD that is now
a phantom?

Solution

An actual "clone" would hold all of the data from the original.
What are you actually wanting to do?

Finally, the Answer button appeared. Thank you, USAFRet, for the quick reply. The OS seemed to clone but with an exception. A desktop file on the original SSD contained very old digitized 35mm slides. This file is not present on the cloned SSD. I'd really like to get them back.

A successful clone can't do that. It is the entirety of the source drive. A one for one copy.

But anyway...don't try to boot from the old one. Just connect it as a secondary drive, and look around for this old file.
