Hi there,

I am looking to put together my first PC that would support a 240hz monitor but I am really lost and would highly appreciate your help with this one.

I am looking at:

CPU - I7 7700K (I want 4.2ghz base frequency to run 240hz monitor - will i7-8700K 3.6ghz run 240hz monitor as good? I read that it has to be at least 4.0ghz clock speed)

GPU - Zotac GeForce GTX 1070 Ti AMP! Edition (is it compatible with my MOBO? and do I need an additional liquid cooler with this card if I do not intend to overclock the CPU at least for the next couple of years)

MOBO - MSI z270 gaming M5 (i don`t get the DDR4 MEMORY, is it compatible with CPU and GPU of my choice?

SSD - Western Digital black NVME SSD 2018 1tb

RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb 3200mhz DDR4 CL16 kit of 2

PSU - 600W Gold Plus but what manufacturer and size(to fit the tower of my choice)?

Tower - Cooler Master Masterbox 5 mid tower

I am not a go hard gamer trying to test all the new games. I like my CS:GO and some other games I play in my spare time. But I really want a solid PC that will last for a couple of years on HIGH settings without overclocking, overheating.

Would you mind giving your opinion on what I have put together, what would you change within a price range of these components if anything at all!?

Many thanks in advance!!

Achieving 240fps in cs go is not a difficult task. What other games do you play?

Have you looked at a 240hz monitor? Know how much it costs?

BTW, where do you live and how much is your budget? The budget includes the pc along with peripherals like monitor, keyboard, headset?

I play CSGO, Call of Duty, Heroes of Might and Magic and would like to try some new ones with my new rig.

I have decided on Benq Zowie xl2546 24.5 inch.

I live in Latvia, Northern Europe, My budget is 1.5-2k EUR just for components but would love to spend less still being able to run 240hz monitor on high settings.

Thank you.

Rams : 2x8gb of 3000/3200mhz

Ssd : crucial mx500, Samsung 860, Seagate barracuda compute, hyper x fury, hp ex 900/920, corsair mp300, mp510

Gpu : msi gaming x/z series, titanium series. Gigabyte aorus, windforce, Asus dual, cerebrus, Strix Zotac amp series - gtx 1070ti, 2060,2070, Vega 56/64

The mobo has auto overclock options. You just have to enable few settings in bios for auto oc.

Cs go and heros of might and magic would be easy 200±fps. You can expect 150+ fps in call to duty depending on the graphics settings.

Look for benchmarks in YouTube with Vega 56 and 9600k...
