A problem with screws

When me and my dad were building my pc, we accidently put in a wrong screw in the standoff and thought it was no big deal as we werent removing it anytime soon. Would this cause random crashes?

Hardly! More likely that they are caused by faulty component like ram.

What are your full system specs and how do the crashes happen?

msi R9 270x Hawk 2G
16gb 1866mhz ddr3 g.skill ripjaw x ram
fx 4130 oc'ed to 4.2ghz (crashes happened before oc also)
1tb western digital blue
Solidgear 750w psu
logitech cd drive
sentey gs6008 case
windows 10 64bit

the crashes aren't really crashes?

like i was just playing gta 5 and the audio started freaking out, then i couldnt use the usb ports or anything and the screen froze for about 30-35 seconds and unfroze and the game was still running fine I just couldn't control anything.


sometimes i get colored lines (very rare)
sometimes it just makes a buzzing sound in my earphones and freezes

That is difficult on but can you try the GPU in a different system to eliminate it?

can't i don't ahve any other psus that can handle it

well that is the thing your PSU is not of any known quality and could be a culprit as well.

Well I updated the bios to the newest version.
I'm going to try underclocking the card to normal r9 270x speeds instead of the factory oc.

next time i play i will monitor temps, because after playing gta 5 for awhile my mobo reached 60C
