Hi,
I have a Dell 17r Laptop with i7-3612qm that is clocked at 2.1GHz. I was wondering if it is possible to overclock it to at least 3GHZ.
On the page http://processors.specout.com/l/819/Intel-i7-3612QM it seems to imply that it is possible.
I am not an expert on this field so I would appreciate your help.
So any info about whether the Dell Bios will lock me out,how to do it or if it's a good idea in the first place will be of much help.
My goal with this is to be able to play games that require around 3GHz CPU. Even though the i7 is good for multitasking it is not so good at single high stress processes.
(As far as I know anyway, would like to be corrected)
BTW. I changed the cooler pad for a cooling paste of the highest quality and now even on near 100% stress on all cores, the temperature does not go over about 50degC (Cleaned also)
Thank you in advance!
P.S. Sorry for any grammatical errors in the post as English is not my mother tongue.
