A quick question

Hi guys i have a p4 1.6 and a 9800 pro 128 graphic card

Is my processor holding back my graphic card , i am thinking of getting a athlon 3200+

will this improve my gaming performance , also which athlon 3200+ core should i get like venince , winchester ....

Yes, a socket 423/P4 1.6 is a bit weak, but then, so is a 9800Pro ( an excellent card a couple of years ago!) for todays games...; and I'd hate to see spend anone $250-$300 just to get an old NF3 board just to accomodate an old AGP video card...

I'd just stand pat a few more months, then get a Conroe, 975X mainboard, and 7900GT/1800XT or equiv) in July/August or so...

I would check out the asrock AGP/PCI-E board it may be what you are looking for. The option to upgrade to dual-core and PCI-E may be appealing.
