A SSD main with an external harddrive combo

Hey everyone. Im getting a new laptop for gaming mostly so im torn between getting a 1tb hard dive or a 256gb ssd with an external hard drive. Any suggestions?

How many internal drives can this new laptop hold? Many can take 2.

I have a 256gig SSD in my laptop and a 500gig SSD in my desktop, then have a 2TB USB 3.0 external that has all my movies and music and ISOs and stuff. Works great. Just giving you a heads up though, once you have a (good) SSD in your computer you'll be spoiled for life.

Find out.
But an SSD is (as said above) one of those things...once you have one, you'll never, ever go back.

But....typing a laptop to an external drive negates the prime reason for a laptop - portability.

couldn't i just get a small external ? and its just to bring it to a couple different places but not really on the fly anyway just a few set places

also i think i can add a hard drive and than i have an option for a second one thats SSD only

what's a bad ssd

Transcend (although the newest ones aren't as bad), OCZ. Stick with Samsung or SanDisk.
