Hello,

My son has a old computer with the following specs:

Win 10
X48-DS4 mobo
8 MB memory
7850 Radeon GPU
E8400 CPU

I don't understand much about it, but he tells me that he will learn how to program animation and graphics in Javascript, and he might need a new computer.
Does he?
Can't that old horse carry the weight of programing?

Thank you for your help.

I wouldn't like to run visual studio on an E8400 but |I guess notepad++ would work.
For web programming he would need to run a webserver on the machine for testing so a new PC would be a lot better to work on, but you could probably make do with what you have.

Hello,

For graphic content creation, where a cpu power is needed(this one is 10y old), i think the pc isnt sufficent enough to get the work done effectively, but that doesnt mean you have to spend 2k on brand new pc, but this system is indeed outdated for that type of work.

I think a budget pc up to 700€ will do the trick.
