Hey Guys,
I have a very old machine that I decided to bring it to action again.
I cleaned it and got it up and running but the problem was with the External Graphics card
that was given to me by a friend. The olddy NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS 512 MB
I plugged it in the PCI-E 2 and downloaded the driver and installed it and deleted my old drivers for
the integrated gpu. The card is connected to the monitor via the Vega cable.

The problem is:
There is no audio
and the audio sign shows x sign on top of the audio icon.
Showing "No audio Output Device is installed". I checked for the audio drivers and it's installed. So I'm
not sure where is the problem.
The audio was working perfectly on the integrated card though .

Any Idea why this is happening and how to fix it?

OS: Windows 7 64 bit
CPU: AMD athlon 64 x2 4600+
Mobo: Hewlett-Packard 0A64h with Integrated ATI xpress 200 gpu
Memory: 3 GBytes
External Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS 512 MB

Solution
Unfortunately no.

Go to your BIOS. Restart Computer Press F2/Del what so ever to enter Bios.

Go Advanced and find a Setting about Audio. Switch Auto to Enabled.. I think your bios is set the audio to auto. So it disabled it when you have gpu connected.

8400GS does not support audio. you have to use the 3.5mm jack on your desktop.

If your 8400GS support spdif. then you gona need a wire to plug it on your GPU to motherboard spdif. then your 8400gs will have a sound through hdmi.

Can't see any thing that I can plug something into in the card.
What do you mean by using 3.5mm jack? I plugged a speaker in the mobo green audio socket in the back and also tried with front audio socket in the Case but nothing changed.

Man! thx very much. Problem solved by enabling the integrated audio! I didn't find the one you mentioned but I found this and turned it on. I don't know what is wrong with external card. But problem solved and audio is working! Thanks very much.
