A week old home xtreme built is not booting

okay here are my components. This build cost me $1600 of my budget.


Intel i930 ** got it from Microcenter for $229.

okay i got this for a week now and everything was going great.

i OC the CPU to 3.99mhz..i can go for 4.2mhz but im a noob.

my ram only showing 800 speed. it suppose to have 1600 speed.. im a noob so i dont really know what to tweak everything yet.


So the system runs fine at 3.99mhz and i been having it running for 12 hours straight with no heat at all.

Just to day when i got home from work and my little brother are playing, so i told them the get out of my room and so the left.
i didnt turn off the computer and instead i took a nap...
then 1 hour later when suddenly a very loud noise coming from the video card alarm me to wake up.
its horrible sound work me up because its fan is running ultra speed. so i decide turn the computer off..

later when i went to turn my computer on, its just not booting!!!!!
everything are power turn on but my monitor is not detecting my system booting.
***by the way, when I turn on the computer, the video card fan ran the horrible noise again at ultra speed. Still not boot.

So i then replace the video to my older ati hd 4650 card. Still no booting...


So i was wondering can anyone explain to me what is going on????

I speculated that it might be the power supply.

here are the things i tried already.
* reset the Bios. took the battery off and put back on, didnt work,,,
*try only 1 memory stick on..still no booting
*swap with my older ati card...still no booting
*take out my corsiar cool hydro h50 and plug the regular heat stink...still no booting....
* check my CPU without the heatstink....CPU was fine because after 3 second, its getting hotter and hotter. still no booting.

i dont know what is wrong... someone please help!!!!!!!!

hmm....Strange.

Did u checked the cpu and motherboard separately ?

First thing to do is to clear the CMOS and restore stock settings.

i just notice that my moterboard got burned... it was a small burned spot on top of the motherboard's battery...

i think its the motherboard's fault.

anyway, i just got it at Newegg for a week now, and i believe its still under the 30 days warranty so can i try and exchange it for a new one??

yes i did check and realize that there was a burned spot on my computer case.....CPU is fine..

i just notice that my moterboard got burned... it was a small burned spot on top of the motherboard's battery...

I would try and RMA the board. Not sure if they'll take it back with the damage, but worth a shot.

just called newegg a minutes ago and said that my mobo just stop working and i need anew replacement on it. its only 2 weeks old so that the nice lady say its okay, we'll replace it with no cost to you. free shiping both ways. just return the the mobo with all the items and well sent you a new one as soon as we got your non working mobo...

*sign! i didnt told her the whole story of what happen.. i just told her that the mobo just stopp booting...

btw, the burned spot is very hard to spot and hardly noticeable because of its fine brown shiny polish....you have to look carefully. i noticed because it leave a burn spot on the case.

i just wish they 'll sent me a new one...

but if they sent me a refurbish mobo....then im going to refund it! since it's still under newegg 30 days return policy.
