A10 7700k overclock, please advise...

Hello everyone, my 7700k is running at 3.4GHz I want it to be at 4.0GHz. What i need to no is is it safe to clock it up to 4.0GHz on the stock cooler? If it is not what cooler could you recommend on a budget of 50 pounds. also what software should I use. Thanks for reading CullenSmith

When idle, monitor your CPU socket temperature with your motherboard software. When stress testing, monitor thermal margin with AMD Overdrive. Depending on how your temperatures go, you might want to upgrade to a cooler with copper heat pipes. 4.0GHz might not push it that hard, but if you close in on zero thermal margin, then you definitely need to upgrade the cooler to push further clocks and prevent throttling. Don't worry, it's nearly impossible to break these FM2/FM2+ chips.

Ok cool, I dont have any software for my mobo, would I be able to get of the web? I have a gigabyte fm2a55-hd2 rev 3.0
