I'm up and running with my TBird 850, just running it at 850 to see if I get any funky stuff. Just upgraded the BIOS to 1005.00e, the Promise Controller to the latest rev, and the newer Via 4/1 Drivers. Have a ATA100 and an ATA33 HDD on the ATA channel and its actually working :)!

OK... I'm curious about all the great monitoring available with Asus Probe, but two functions have me wondering. How do you monitor the Power Supply fan? And chassis fans... I have two, one front, one rear, both two-wire deals. So... do I have to buy a couple of A7v-compatible chassis fans so I don't blow out the motherboard connections? Anyone have a URL for a good source?

Last issue. My CPU temp is around 47°C normal with the side cover of the case off, bumps up to 50°C with the side cover on. Using SuperORB, A-Pro 801 mid-tower, wondered about whether any software tweaks like RAIN will help the AMDs?

You will need to get 3 wire fans to monitor fan speeds.
Asus Probe has a software cooling facility but it does not work with Athlons. I have read elsewhere that it is deliberately disabled to avoid temperature fluctuations.
I have a T'bird 800 in an A7V (not overclocked) with a Tai Sol heatsink and fan and an 80mm fan drawing air out at the back of the case. My processor temps run between 40 and 42C.
Overclockers.com have a good selection of cases fans heatsinks etc

If you want any serious cooling in your case, the fans are going to draw a lot of current, and thus in danger of blowing the headers on the Asus mobo. Use the headers for the small fans (heatsink fans, etc) and use molex 4 pin connectors for any fans 80mm or above. You might be able to get away with an 80mm fan on the headers, but you are in danger of blowing them...oO(calculated risk)
