I would like to know when i connect my HD-drive(ata100 20.4G) with the ATA100 socket on motherboard (in the bios, i use "auto") it seem that it doesn't show all my space in HD but when i change to the socket ATA66 it can see all my 20G.
Do you guy know what wrong with motherboard? Or I set something wrong.

I'm not sure there is an ATA66 "socket". You've got two ATA100/66 connectors that require the 80-pin cable and 2 UltraDMA/33 connectors.

Make sure you are using the 80-pin cable on the ATA100 connectors. Make sure you have enabled the ata100 in the bios.

The "auto" selection in the bios is for the ide controllers. The ata100 drives can't be selected in the bios. They are picked up by the promise bios which runs after the motherboard bios is done.<P ID="edit"><FONT SIZE=-1><EM>Edited by gorenc on 12/12/00 07:11 AM.</EM></FONT></P>

How do i enable the bios to be ATA100

you can't do enything with your promise bios. you have the options to enable the promise bios in you normal bios. The only thing you must do is format and fdisk your HD on the ata66 connector (with a U-DMA cable) and then switch the cable to the ata100 connector. And make sure you have the latest promise drivers installed on your OS, beceause that can also be the reasen that you don't see all your HD-space

You must use the 40-pin cable on the IDE (Ultra dma 33) controllers and the 80-pin cable on the Promise Ultra ATA100 controllers. Now in two places in the bios you are asked about the Ultra ata100 controller. I beleive one is somewhere in the "advanced" menu and the other is in the "boot" menu.

After you are all finished with this put on the Build 33 Promise drivers and the 1005a bios. You should have a stable board after that.
