A7V133...Ata100 and win98SE

Whenever I try enabling my promise controller under device manager in win98se, the OS freezes right before getting to the gui with "General Protection Error", so I have to keep it disabled all the time. I got the latest bios, latest 4in1, but to no avail.

Any suggestions?

P.S. It works under 2k

Did you download and install the Promise drivers? The Promise controller isn't covered by the 4-in-1s.
