I am trying to set the Load Performance Settings from Normal to Optimal but when I reboot it gives me the following error. Windows cannot start because the following file is missing or corrupt.
\Windows\System32\Config\System.
Then it tells you how to repair the file.
but if I set it back to Normal it boots fine.
I have tryed different BIOS revisions, No change.
WINXP HomeEdition
A7V266-E
BIOS Rev. 1010
512 Crucial PC2100(2 256 meg sticks.)
Athlon XP2100+
WD 60 Gig. 7200 RPM Drive.
Gainward GeForce3 TI200 Golden Sample
Onboard sound Enabled.
CNet PRO200 NIC
Pioneer DVD Drive
Plextor 16/10/40 Writer
Antec 350watt Dual Fan Powersupply
I have nothing overclocked or tweeked when trying to enable this setting. System is stable and runs good but I have never been able to enable this setting. Any ideas what may be causing this to happen?
Thanks
