Hi,

I'm building a new box based on the A8N-SLI Deluxe board with 4 sata drives.
I have two options - use the nvidia chipset raid controller with raid 0+1,
or the Silicon Image with raid 10. My dilemma is that raid10 is reputed to
be more robust than 0+1, but I assume the nvidia controller will give
slightly better performance as it's not on the PCI bus.

Any thoughts?

I'd say the answer is right there in your own message. Which is it you
want: slightly better performance or slightly more reliability? That is
totally up to you. You could also install on one controller, try it out
(benchmark or otherwise), then reinstall on the other controller, and
then decide. At least then you know why you didn't choose the other setup.
