nah, just have PSU screwed into the case, and a power cord plugged into the wall & PSU. I could probably have been a bit clearer, but hey....

i was looking at that board a few months back as well, there's lots of testing done on it on this site i think. it's almost an identical spec to the A8N as i recall, excepting the SLI of course.
i'd say it's the better choice if you're dead set on ATI and you won't go too far wrong with MSI from my experience anyway.

now go source the matching GC and you should really be able to get some soaring frame rates.

.... just checked the MSI site to have a look at their ATI GC's.

NICE! I looked earlyer for this card and couldn't find it. They seem to be pushing the GForce cards pretty hard. I'm sold on this if I can find one...

I'm pulling my hair out here. I've been reading up on AIT's AMR (ATI's answer to SLI) and it will be out in Q2 which I have no idea when that will be. ATI is already stating that they have a 512mb video card that will be shown at some OC convention. I'm at a loss here, I may just wait it out... grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

That is a nice board if you aren't planning on going the SLI route. I currently have the A8N-SLI Deluxe in my system with the 6800 Ultra card from BFG. The system performance is impressive. I have been reading about ATI and there steps to compete with Nvidia's SLI. It will be pretty interesting to see what they come up with. The only question I have in regards to ATI's response is will they be coming out with a Mobo like nvidia did with the Nforce4 boards. It will be interesting to see. I know that Nvidia makes their graphics cards compatible with some Mobos like the Asus. I'm curious if ATI will go a similar route.

have you a 3Dmark05 score for that system yet? i'd be very interested to hear...

forrest, if you're gonna start waiting then you not gonna stop. we've SATA optical drives coming, (as you have already found) dual core architectures promised, AGP-express promised, and we all know that as soon as the price on the 850XT drops, or indeed as soon as it becomes readily available, it will be because we'll all be drooling over something else. yer just gonna have to bite the bullet i'm afraid dude.

only thing i'm REALLY interested in at the moment is when is someone gonna realease a triplehead capable of running doom3 full on. now that i would pay money for!

I think your absolutly correct. I'm getting some elmer's glue to place my hair back. I just can't help but feel like I'll buy the wrong thing. Looking at what parts I've chosen I think its a safe bet it'll be fine. I'll still be able to upgrade the CPU several times over and I'm sure they'll continue to make PCIe cards at least for awhile.

I don't have a 3d score yet. I have been busy. I will try to get that score for you tonight. My system is currently only running 1 GeForce 6800 Ultra card. And playing games like HL2 and Doom3 are as smooth as can be. I will let you know what the my 3dMark05 Score is when i test it out.
