Updated my system with an asus a8v mobo and amd64 3000+, 512mb of corsair mem. Already had a sapphire atlantis 9800pro and and audigy zs. Now games which worked before, doom3,farcry,moh pacific assualt, crash every time i load them. All drivers are uptodate an the bios is flashed to v1.09. Have recorded the voltages and temps during the games and all is fine and steady. Any ideas anyone?

Mobo upgrade is major - If you didn't wipe the hard drive and reload, then I would recommend doing that. Backup your data first...

if you have reinstaller the OS, make sure that your PSU is up to the task with your current system, that a power connector is connected to the video card, that the 4 pins power connector is plugged to the motherboard then I would try to remove the sound card to see if it is not a conflict between it and something else.

Who makes the PSU and what is the model number? None of the voltages were outside 5%? Checked for any types of grounds in the case(i.e. proper mobo installation - nothing touching something it shouldn't)? Is it only crashing in games or whenever the system is under load? Have you tested/stressed the memory?

Go to the AMD website... look in their Forums section there's a long thread about the AMD 64 3500 NOT working in certain Mobo without a substantial Mobo bios fix.

Sorry I don't have a clicky for you or more details. My A8V Deluxe has worked fine out the box.

Its a q-tec 400w, model no.13493. XP SP2 isn't installed. The Asus probe program shows no fluctuation in voltage during the game or the crashes. Checked for grounds, but found nothing.

I looked on q-tech web site and not too much info about the outputs of this PSU. How many amps there is on the +12v, +5v, +3.3v ... should be listed on the side on a sticker.
