Question AAM or APM to Test SSD Speeds?

I just purchased the Lenova Y545 from Costco with 16 RAM & 512GB SSD. I was bummed seeing how slow some of my downloads were. I've never tested an SSD and have little experience in the field. I downloaded Crystal Disk Mark but can't find a guide on their site explaining the difference between AAM and APM for the life of me. APM sounds more logical but I don't trust myself to make that decision.

The SSD is also like half the length of a 2280. I took it out as well as the insert piece that lets it fit but my XPG S11 Pro wouldn't fit... And surprisingly not because of it's bulky top, but because of the extra circuits and tech on it's belly. BUMMER

Disable both to see max performance.
AAM should be left off on an SSD since they make no noise and are not subject to the vibration effects HDD's are.
APM on to test real world performance in a laptop.

AAM = automatic acoustic management
APM - automatic power management.

Also, "downloads" have little or nothing to do with SSD speed.
That is all down to your internet connection speed. Your SSD is multiple times faster than that.
