It is, indeed, excellent news. Now I'm curious to see what terms they
are going to establish for the commercial use of the phrase "MAME".

In some ways, this gives new protection powers to the MAMEdevs that
they've needed for quite some time.

Sort of a double edged sword though. When you own a CR/TR you must
defend it to keep it from becoming public domain so now, where many
people shrugged off ebay and sites like emuoncd (Which seems to
FINALLY have met its demise) they will now need to be diligent in
their efforts.

Of course this is still GREAT news! Many thanks to Aaron and all the
other MAMEDev for sticking it to the idiot.

Seriously, I'm not sure that this is actually in compliance.

I know that a valid copyright notice must be either a c-in-a-circle, or
the word Copyright spelled out in full. (c) is not a copyright notice.

I'm not sure if a registered trademark requires r-in-a-circle or if (r) is
sufficient. Never had much to do with trademarks.

Thanks. BTW, I was thinking of registering RetroBlast! to prevent
people from reviewing arcade related products without giving me a cut.
I plan on justifying this on moral grounds. Any advice?

Yes, I have plenty of advice, and I'd love to talk to you about it in
person. Could I have your address, please?

You have my address from back in your giveaway days. When are you going
to have more contests? My proto-cab lacks a trackball.

Well, I've got a DVD-giveaway going on right now, and I've got a couple
of ArcadeVGA cards just waiting for the next giveaway contest.

Oh, and I'm going to have to do _something_ with all those trackballs
I'm going to be getting for the upcoming trackball roundup...

I've had major giveaways about every six months, or just about long
enough for me to decide it's time to see the top of my workbench again.

Oy!....proto is very nearly a registered trademark
just make sure that doesn't become PRoTo or I will be taking action

Now if only the arcade community can convince this Foley wanker to drop
his trademark application on "Honeyweets"...
