I cant get my computer to boot into BIOS. This is a newly built PC, the error indicator on the motherboard is set to "C1" which apparently means:

Detect memory:
- Auto-detection of DRAM size, type and ECC
- Auto-detection of L2 cache ( socket 7 or below )

My computer specs:

Core 2 Duo E7400 (Brand new)
PNY Value ram PC6400 (2x2gb - brand new)
Abit AB9 Pro (Brand new)
EVGA 8800GT

What I've tried:

Resetting CMOS battery (via battery and jumper)
Removing unneccessary devices (DVD rom, all but 1 hard drive, only 1 ram piece)
Tested each ram slot with either of my sticks
Rechecked motherboard screws incase it was shorting (took whole thing out, reseated)

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Although I don't remember I have seen error code C1, I would give you my thought about your issue.

I bought Ab9 Pro 2 years ago (11/10/2006). I built the system myself. The system is still running. I tried to install a segate hd before on other system (Hd was on a rack; easy for me to test), I couldn't get the BIOS to show. The system got somewhere, and just hung up.
Do you see anything coming up at all?

So my suggestion is: disconnect the HD, then reboot it, and see if you can get to the BIOS.
