Abit kt7a and fan

I ordered a vantec fce-62540d heatsink and a delta 38 cfm fan can I plug this bad boy in fan port one or should i use the three to four pin converter? if I do use the four pin converter will my mother board still boot its a kt7a, even though fan port one s not used? Is this a good heatsink for overclocking?

i have the kt7a and it won't boot if you don't have the fan plugged into the 3 pin port (port 1)

i personally use the fop38 for my oc'ing but somewhere on the amdzone.com page there is a good hsf shootout with like
20 different fans.
maybe yours is there so check it out if you have time.
