Abit vs. GigaByte

Hello there. I'm going to buying a new AMD 64 system very soon, and I have to decide between an Abit KV8 PRO VIA K8T800 and a GigaByte GA-K8NS nForce3 250. Which is a better motherboard? Thank you .

Hey, thanks for the info guys. Originally the plan was to get the new computer in about a month, maybe slightly less. One of the reasons for the new computer, aside from wanting a better system, is that it's hard to turn my current system on... especially when it's cold. Today it almost wouldn't start up at all, so it looks like I'll be buying that new system quite a bit sooner then I expected. Again, thanks for the info .

Word of warning - I have just setup a Gigabyte K8NS Ultra 939 system, and can't run my memory Dual Channel. Single is OK (I'm on the computer now)... don't know if it's BIOS or a faulty m/b. Memory tests are all OK.

Seems like an avg of 2 days to hear back from their support.

Shift the memory to slots 2 & 3.
