Abnormal Monitor Black-Out Issue

My System Specifications:

0) ASUS Maximus Hero Vii Motherboard.
1) Intel core i7 4770k @ 3.50 GHz
2) Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 Synergy Edition @ stock.
3) (2 X 4) GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM @ 1333 MHz
4) 1 TB Seagate @ 7200rpms (SATA)
5) CoolerMaster G650M PSU.
6) LG19m35 Monitor.

I've searched for a while but come up empty.
Everytime my monitor becomes dark ( A very dark scene/Scene transition in a full screen movie OR when a video game finishes loading up the world/Dark screen transition In say Skyrim or Mass Effect 3 ) the screen turns completely black for a moment as if i'd turned the monitor off, but becomes normal again as soon as the scene allows even the tiniest bit of light.

I've done a fresh install of the graphics drivers as well as checked the CPU and GPU temperatures. CPU@ 43-49C and GPU@ 36C. No change.

Any help/Insight is appreciated. :]

P.S. I hope it isn't the motherboard..

Your monitor seem to have some kind of energy saving feature, i'm not sure if it's the cause but it's worth checking if disabling it fixes the problem. (if you havent tried already) http://www.manualslib.com/manual/709929/Lg-19m35a.html?page=20#manual

The only other thing that comes to mind is the dynamic contrast. It works by lowering the monitor backlight intensity (brightness) by itself when the scenes on the screen are dark, and bringing it up when the scene is brighter. That's how they are able to advertise insanely high contrast ratio (like 50 million:1). Personally i always disable that feature on my monitors because i really hates it, but i'm not sure if you can disable it on yours as i can't find it when i check your monitor user manual. Check for dynamic contrast, or "ACR" somewhere on your monitor options.

So if your monitor seem to lower brightness to its minimum level when you display a full black page and come back to normal when you are on your desktop, while possibly go even brighter when you are on a white page, (without the monitor turning off completely when it's black), it may be it. And it's a monitor feature (annoying feature if you can't disable it), but not a defect.

No such luck. Most of the settings are manual and there are 2 other settings called reader1 , reader2 which add a sepia tone . I checked it out without the graphics drivers in and it still exists so it isn't the GPU and i don't think its the CPU or Motherboard either, based on previous research. Do you think its possible that the VGA jack is faulty and that's why its occurring?
