Hello, I have a HDD server PC and my source does not support any more, I want to put an external source without modifying it, but they tell me if I feed a HDD with an external source I will have problems with the 5 volts of the SATA connector of the MotherBoart, which makes me wonder If I configure the SATA on the board as external SATA, what happens?

nothing will happen, external sata is just change for sata data port to be hot plugable, not for sata power port
for external purposes (esata) its probably best to get some external drive bay which has its own power source

I live in Cuba, I can't buy on Amazon, I just want to put an extra PSU on my PC. On one occasion I plugged in 2 PSUs and one broke instantly. I want to put the 2 without bridging them and that something does not happen to my HDD or motherboart. I have already done it but they tell me it will cause breaks due to a voltage that runs through the data tape, then I thought that if I configured as ESATA nothing would happen. The insecurity slows down anyone and more people in the 3rd world, for whom technology costs so much and breaking something is not an option.
