Hi everyone,

I've got this build sorted, confident about building for the first time, fits my budget nicely, and have already received the PSU. Just wanted to run this by you folks one last time. I MAY have to update the bios for the motherboard, it depends on when it was made. Is that difficult/ require anything specific? Also, would a normal screwdriver do the job, or is there a particular type that works best?

Thanks,

Tim

Usually, to upgrade the BIOS you need the system working, and in order to do that, you need a CPU taht's compatible first. Usually it should come with the latest BIOS unless it's very, very old stock. Hit and miss really, and you could be in for a bad time if you can't upgrade the BIOS to use your new CPU without a working CPU, and you can't get a working CPU until you flash the BIOS. Cat <---> Mouse.

A normal phillips/starhead screw driver is all you need.

If I'm buying the motherboard new, will that mean it'll have the updated BIOS?
