Above average specs, horrible efficiency

There is a problem with my computer and I cannot seem it find it. While running some of the newer games(pubg etc) I always run into the problem of extremely high loading times. The time it took to load the game in was ridiculous. It would take average 7 minutes to completely load everything in, in that time my computer freezes, stabilizes, then freezes and repeatedly does that until everything is in. I have no problem running it while everything is loaded but the loading time usually just ruins it. I am posting here because almost all of my friends have lower specs without ssds and they can seem to run and load things in 200% faster, someone please help!

Have you defragmented your HDD if you have one, and not an ssd?
