AC´97 or SB PCI 512

What´s better ... should I use my mobo audio (AC´97) or my
Sound Blaster PCI 512?.
I have no idea about this.

The PCI512 will be significantly better quality because it's based on the advanced EMU10K1 chip that is used in the SoundBlaster Live! series which includes support for 4.1 surround sound, and EAX. The PCI512 is basically a stripped down version of the SoundBlaster Live! while AC97 integrated sound only provides very basic sound.

If you only listen to wav or mp3 would there be any difference using a SB PCI 512 compared to a AC´97.
Listening to music isn't that "basic" sound?

SB PCI 512 support 4.1. It sound a lot better than 2.1 setup.

There is a huge diference between any Sound Blaster since the AWE32 and those awful AC'97. You will hear a lot of distortions with it not only in hight volumes, but in medium volumes too. Maybe low volumes too.

I already used SB AWE32, AC'97 and today I have a Live!.
