Hello,

My computer is running Windows XP 32-bit and I believe that it was infected as it has 300GB of temp files. The computer is only used for Word usage and it is not even connected to the internet.
I tried deleting the temp files in safe mode using both normal deletion and the cmd one but i keep on getting ''Access denied'' same as in normal mode. and I ended up with 24MB of space at the moment.

Anything I can try ?

what shady files are you running or installing from outside sources that would possibly cause this system to be infected?
if you are not even connected to the internet then you are introducing any possible malware yourself.

browse to these temp files and see what they actually are.
and include a screenshot of your system's Disk Management.

Thank you for your response.

Am not in front of the computer rn so I cant take a ss of disk management. The malware probably came from a floppy disk (another word file or autocad file) and the files in temp are usually appcompat.txt or svchost.exe.

I am more interested in cleaning the temp files hence having some space to work than dealing with the malware tbh

I would try F8 start "Safe Mode" or "Command Prompt" to delete the files.

Failing that, you could D/L a copy of "boot-repair-disk-64bit.iso", and Yumi.exe. Use Yumi to create a bootable flash drive with "boot-repair" on it. This is Linux based so you'll be able to read/delete anything on the NTFS drive.
