Access Denied While Installing USB Driver

I just recently did a full re-install of Windows 7 on my old laptop. I thought I had worked out all the kinks, but today I tried to plug in a flash drive I have been using at work and got an error when trying to install the drivers for it stating simply that access is denied. This also happened when I tried to plug in a controller on the computer as well to see if it was just the drive. I have tried searching around the web and can not find a solution that will work. I am showing up in the computer as an administrator so I do not believe that is an issue, although I could be wrong. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Note: I just realized I put this in the Windows XP forum (One of those days i guess). Can I move this to the Windows 7 forum or have it moved there by somebody. Sorry and thank you.

Thank you for the quick response. I tried the steps outlined in that article, but it did not work. Any other ideas?
