Access point via MAC address

I have a camera for the car which I changed the name, but not the password. Now I cannot access the camera with the new name. Does knowing the MAC address details give me the ability to hack the password?

Almost all devices have some kind of factory reset switch/method. Just reset it and start over it is much easier.
