I just edited this post to quickly rephrase the question.

Old post:
Hey what's up everyone.

I have just a quick question and i have been looking on the web for some time now.
I have at home a spare pc that is just used for storing movies and stuff via my home workgroup.
Now, i would like to access that pc from my school that is obviously not in my home workgroup.
I'm looking for a way to perhaps "fake" the computers to think they are both in the same workgroup or connectoin for me to be able to access the public files from my school network.

I'd love to hear some interresting ideas from you guys :)

Edit:
It's not necessarely that i need access to the computer via a home network, but i would like to watch some of my movies that i have stored on my home computer, from my school network. So if i hadn't made that clear enough in the original post, i'm sorry.

You're probably either looking at setting up a VPN tunnel into your network via your router or using a Windows home server or something along those lines.

Your main concern is going to be security. If you can get in then you're opening it up for the possibility of someone else getting in as well.

Well the mainly use of this whole thing is to be able to access my movies when i'm in school. Maybe there's another 3rd party program or something that is a bit easier to set up in the first place.

If there is none, i will see in setting up a vpn.
