Hey guys,

I built my first PC desktop a month ago, worked perfectly. Recently I decided to move the computer around, so I put it back to the polyfoam that were used to hold the case in place in the box, put the entire thing back to the case box, and when I lift it... Bang! The entire thing fell out from the bottom of the box since I forgot to seal it. At the time of dropping the PC is about 40~50 cm from the ground... and my floor has carpet on it. So I took out the graphics card, inspected the motherboard, checked the CPU cooler and everything seemed to be fine (no cracks or anything), I can still turn on the system and it worked just fine. But I'm still kinda worried after hearing all the horrible stories from people who broke their mobo/gpu after dropping the system... am I being an OCD... or do I need to worry at all

Case: Corsair 400C
MOBO: Gigabyte X99 Phoenix SLI
CPU: I 7 6800k
CPU cooler: Arctic cooling liquid freezer 240
Ram: 4*8g corsair vengeance led @3200mhz
GPU: Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming GTX1080
HDD: Seagate SSHD
PSU: Evga GQ850W

Sorry about my flawed English, and this is my first time posting in this forum.

Thanks,
DC

You are probably fine. You already did a visual inspection and things look to be in the correct place and no apparent issues. Past that, your main issue would be with the HD as it has moving parts that could have been damaged with the drop. Plug it in and fire it up. Listen for fan noise and check out if the HD is working. If that checks out, then you can refocus your OCD on something else...
